Red Badge Group is seeking an adaptable and motivated individual to join our team as a Communications Operator working night shifts in our Red Operations Centre in Penrose, Auckland. This highly valued role sits at the heart of our operations, ensuring timely, clear, and effective communication across a broad range of situations. You’ll play a pivotal part in supporting the safety and wellbeing of our staff, as well as smooth operation of our client sites by being the main link between frontline teams, patrols, and supervisors. The night shift hours will vary but will be between the hours of 7pm - 7am with most shifts being 10pm -7am.

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, prioritise, and respond to incoming calls, alarm call outs, and electronic communications from multiple locations and stakeholders.
- Log, escalate, and follow up on incidents and requests in line with company protocols and client requirements.
- Coordinate the timely and accurate dispatch of patrols as needed.
- Liaise effectively with frontline teams, patrols and supervisors to provide clear updates and instructions.
- Maintain detailed, accurate records and shift reports related to incidents, maintenance, or safety issues.
- Support the efficiency and safety of site operations by following and improving communications procedures.
- Uphold Red Badge Group values and commitment to inclusivity, service, and professionalism at all times.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience (1-3 years) in a communications, security operations, call centre, customer service, or a related role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to quickly and clearly relay information in high-pressure situations.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and prioritise competing demands effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and make informed decisions in emergency or high-stress circumstances.
- Proficient computer skills – including experience with incident management, communications or reporting systems.
- Proven professionalism, discretion, and reliability when dealing with sensitive or confidential information.
- A positive, solutions-focused mindset and a commitment to delivering excellent customer experience.
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand and a minimum age of 18 years.
- Availability & flexibility to work varying overnight shifts - between the hours of 7pm and 7am, with most shifts being 10pm-7am.
