HBH Group is looking for an organised, capable and people-focused Communications Support and Office Administrator to join our team at HBH Howick Views.


This is a varied role combining communications, front-of-house service and office administration. Based at reception, you will help create a warm, welcoming and professional experience for residents, families and whānau, visitors, volunteers and staff, while supporting HBH Group’s communications and day-to-day office operations.


Relationships are at the heart of life at HBH. You will be someone who enjoys connecting with people, takes the time to listen and understands how everyday interactions can help residents feel known, valued and part of a meaningful community.


Working closely with the Executive Assistant and Communications Lead, you will support HBH’s publications and organisational updates, maintain digital channels, assist with events and surveys, and help ensure reception and the wider office operate smoothly.



About the role


Your responsibilities will include:



  • Supporting the preparation of newsletters, staff communications, publications and organisational updates

  • Maintaining HBH’s website, social media, digital displays and communication resources

  • Helping coordinate reports, campaigns, events, surveys and other communications activities

  • Sharing responsibility for reception and creating a warm, welcoming experience for residents, families and whānau, visitors, volunteers and staff

  • Responding to telephone, email and in-person enquiries with warmth and professionalism

  • Providing general office administration, including meeting support, record-keeping, databases and supplies

  • Contributing to an environment where residents feel known, valued, connected and included



About you


You will bring:



  • At least three years’ relevant experience in communications support, office administration, reception, customer service or a comparable role

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting, editing and proofreading professional content

  • Experience updating websites using WordPress or a similar content management system

  • Experience preparing and scheduling organisational social media content

  • Confidence using Canva or a similar design platform

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Strong organisation, prioritisation and attention to detail

  • Sound judgement and discretion when handling sensitive information

  • The ability to work independently, take ownership and follow tasks through

  • A warm, respectful and professional approach, with a genuine interest in people and relationships


Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud applications, Power BI, survey platforms or HR information systems would be an advantage.


A relevant qualification in communications, marketing, business administration or office administration would also be advantageous but is not essential.
