We are looking for a Community of Practice Lead to join our team
The Community of Practice Lead is part of an interdisciplinary team of changemakers who are focused on social change for Pacific communities. The right person is skilled in working across different ethnic Pacific community organising and building a group of like-minded people to work towards a common goal.
The right person for this job will be interested in building a thriving Pacific community in the Auckland and Hamilton regions. They will be highly motivated to make a difference and to try innovative techniques to drive social change.
We are looking for someone who has a comprehensive understanding of prevention systems and is comfortable in working across Pacific cultural frames for reference. The Community of Practice Lead coaches, supports, and facilitates opportunities for local community action that puts into practice Nga Vaka o Kaiga Tapu – eight ethnic-specific Pacific frameworks that have been developed to strengthen wellbeing and prevent violence.
Strong relationship management skills are critical to the success of the role. Successful candidates must be highly organised. They will be comfortable with complex problem solving and working in interdisciplinary teams.
The Community of Practice Lead is responsible for funder reporting, design challenges, and capability building. Identifying areas of risk and opportunity, contributing to case studies, and building an evidence base are also within the scope of the role.
The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude, be purpose-driven, have a hunger to learn, be empathetic to others. They view community organising as a ‘superpower’ they possess and are comfortable working in social innovation.
