The Company

My client is a large private education provider with a long history in Auckland. They provide education for students from kindergarten age up to year 13. Their offices are located on campus in Rosedale close to public transport links with easy access to the motorway. This role is to join on a 3 - 6 month contract that has a high possibility of going permanent.

The Role

In this role you be working in a team of three reporting into the financial controller and will be responsible for payroll, GST, statutory reports and bank reconciliations with scope to pick up additional tasks. You will become a critical member of the team and your responsibilities will include:

• Completing fortnightly payroll for circa 300 employees
• Ensure all payroll transactions are processed efficiently
• Collecting, calculating, and entering data in order to maintain and update payroll information
• New starts and terminations
• Completing bank reconciliations
• Preparing statutory reports
• Ensuring GST returns are completed
• Other ad hoc duties as required

Your profile:

To be considered for this role, we are looking for an experienced Company Accountant who has the following attributes:

• Proven experience in a payroll, ideally in a sole charge position
• Someone who can take ownership of the role
• Professional demeanour who understands confidentiality
• Ability to communicate effectively
