Page Macrae Engineering is recruiting an experienced Construction Manager for a fixed-term contract for up to 9 months starting in late June 2024.
This is a unique opportunity to work with an experienced team on an exciting large-scale power station construction project based in Kawerau.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and oversee all phases of the construction lifecycle from initiation to completion.
- Determine appropriate construction methods and manage site labour, materials, and equipment.
- Develop detailed coordination plans for all site activities.
- Regularly forecast project costs, revenue, and margins and adhere to agreed budgets.
- Manage subcontractor and employee performance and ensure compliance with all health and safety protocols.
- Order necessary supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure project specifications are met.
- Communicate with relevant stakeholders and deliver regular progress reports to the Project Manager.
- Submit testing and inspection logs, quality assurance reports, and punch lists.
- Use scheduling software to update project schedules, track progress, and document project progression.
- Interpreting engineering drawings
- Ensuring QC requirements and client specifications are achieved.
About you: The following qualifications and experience are essential to undertake this role.
- Extensive experience in construction management on large-scale projects.
- Proficiency in large bore piping fabrication techniques, PECPR Regulations, and ASME B31.1 & 3 Codes.
- Ability to prepare technical queries and variations.
- Ability to document sound construction methodologies.
- Excellent decision-making skills under pressure and time constraints.
- Strong understanding of engineering practices and HSE policies.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Committed to quality and safety standards.
- A high level of computer literacy. Competent user of Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience using accounting software or planning software advantageous.
This is a full-time role with overtime hours available (Monday - Saturday). We will consider fixed-term employees or contractors for this position. The role will be based on-site in Kawerau. Successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment medical and/or drug screen. Contractors will be required to hold liability insurance.
