Construction Operations Coordinator - Retail

What you will be doing

Our Retail Development and Project Delivery team is involved in a range of exciting developments here at the AKL domestic and international terminals. As our Retail Construction Operations Coordinator you will support the planning, coordination, and execution of retail construction projects, tenancy fitouts and maintenance works by managing project related tasks, including project administration, financial and contract activities. This is a multi-facetted and exciting role for a construction administrator looking for a diverse role that encompasses construction onsite activity with strong project coordination skills. You will bring a passion for organising high quality construction and delivery coordination outcomes in a busy and dynamic setting.

Your key responsibilities are:

• Assisting Development & Delivery team with onsite visits, construction monitoring, ensuring site conditions meet agreed methodologies
• Supporting management on project construction operations activities
• Leading project administration, coordination processes and maintain overall project planning spreadsheet
• Assist in H&S documenting and sending audits out to relevant parties
• Contract administration including documentation execution
• Carrying out project work or oversight of contractors after hours in line with project needs, as well as responding to urgent service requests relating to retail projects.
• Act as the Area Authority for all tenant small works and maintenance works, ensuring tenants are up to date with Permit to Work requirements
• Communicating with retail tenants regarding impacts due to projects
• Ensure all retail delivery processes and documentation is maintained and updated
• Support the wider Retail team with any administrative functions relating to retail works, development, projects, delivery and retail business outcomes
• Manage delivery of the retail tenant onboarding/offboarding process and various site visits and access
• Tracking project budgets
• Supplier onboarding and procurement activities, processing purchase orders and invoices for the team

We are seeking a Construction Operations Coordinator who can balance competing priorities within our busy Retail Team with excellent time management skills within a fast-paced environment.

To ensure your success in this role, you will need:

• 3+ years’ experience within the construction industry or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an administrative role
• Experience in managing multiple tasks and responsibilities within tight deadlines
• Experienced in health & safety reporting and administrative tasks
• Extremely strong attention to detail and desire to organise
• Strong administrative skills
• Strong written and verbal communication
