Construction Project Manager, Christchurch Based

Pioneer Energy and their subsidiary Ecogas, are looking for a Construction Project Manager with experience in managing multiple disciplinary developments projects to join our team. In this role, you will be involved in managing the construction of new energy asset projects with a focus on our Ecogas business. You will also work in the development, and delivery of business cases for investment in new and existing assets.
The role will be based in Ōtautahi Christchurch, however, the right candidate could be based in other locations for the first 6 months of employment.
The Job
Our company has a strong team of engineers, project managers and professionals. Presently, we need an experienced construction project manager to lead development of new energy infrastructure assets. Specifically, this role’s first project would be to manage the construction of an Anaerobic Digestion Facility in Christchurch. Following this, projects in our pipeline include further development in Ecogas as well as electricity generation projects, from windfarms to hydro power schemes.
Our track record speaks for itself, we are an agile, proactive business that have been aggressively growing our portfolio through times where other companies have stood still. The Ecogas business is leading the way for organics processing in NZ with our recently commissioned plant in Reporoa being the first of its kind.
About you

Pioneer Energy operates and maintains over $400m of renewable energy assets – comprising of hydro schemes, wind farms, thermal energy schemes and our wood fuel business. We have people, plant, and assets from Auckland to Bluff, with our head office in Alexandra, Central Otago. We are owned by The Central Lakes Trust who have a long successful history in the energy industry and have distributed more than $100m in grants into a wide range of community projects and services throughout the Central Lakes area.
Ecogas is operating New Zealand’s first large scale > 75,000 tons, anaerobic digestion plant utilising source separated feedstock to generate biogas, renewable energy, carbon dioxide for industry, as well as a nutrient rich bio-fertiliser for local farmers.
Ecogas is a joint venture partnership between Pioneer Energy and Ecostock bringing together a unique set of skills in handling organic waste streams and management of standalone energy generation sites.

How to Apply?
This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, usually worked Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm, however, there is flexibility for the right person. There is travel required in this role.
