Assisting the Construction Supervisor, this is a hands-on, practical role undertaking installation and minor maintenance activities across a range of construction projects within the Macraes mine site. If you’re a practical, mechanically minded individual that knows your way around large operating equipment, read on! Initially, this role will work on a 9-day fortnight structure, 7am – 4:30pm, with a 3-day weekend every fortnight (subject to change).

Key duties and responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections on the infrastructure, embankments, and pipelines associated with water supply systems
• Participate in the construction of minor earthworks, pipework, fencing and site infrastructure activities
• Preform general repairs and maintenance on pump and pipework installations
• Undertake relevant compliance monitoring and reporting.
• Oversee contractors to ensure compliance with safety systems project scope and site policies
• Operate earthmoving equipment undertaking minor civil projects as required

• Trade qualification in engineering, construction or similar an advantage
• Full and current Drivers Licence, competent driving manual vehicles

Experience:

• Practical experience in a mining construction or trade role
• Above average level of mechanical aptitude required
• Equipment operating experience an advantage
• Rigging and slinging experience an advantage

• Residential role, live and work in the stunning region of Otago, NZ.
