Construction Supervisor - Underground Mining

Our Underground Production team are currently seeking a Construction Supervisor. Reporting to the Project Management Superintendent, this position will provide construction and installation services for the underground mining related capital projects, delivering infrastructure to a high standard, with appropriate balance between fitness for purpose and cost minimisation. This position is based at Macraes, Otago working an 8 days on / 6 days off, 7am - 7pm roster. 



Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Create positive interactions between contractors and mining operations staff - leading to efficient project results and engaged project personnel
• Allocate general and daily responsibilities to, and set priorities for contractors and their personnel across assigned infrastructure projects
• Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
• Undertake minor construction, logistics activities and machine operation
• Support project construction activities through execution of minor works such as formwork preparation and concrete placement for pads and plinths
• Ensure risk assessments are carried out in consultation with staff and agreed control measures are implemented and complied with
• Perform minor earth works using varied machinery and equipment 

• Trade qualification in carpentry/construction
• Certified rigger
• Full and current Drivers Licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years supervision in the construction or mining industries
• Minimum 3 years practical mining experience involving infrastructure construction and maintenance
• Practical experience providing supervision for medium to large scale construction projects

• Residential role, live and work in the stunning region of Otago, NZ.
