Consultant Gastroenterologist - Fixed term

Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand,Nelson Marlborough seeks an experienced Gastroenterologist or dual trainedPhysician- Gastroenterologist to cover sabbatical leave for 6 months

  • Fixed term full time 1.0FTE (80 hours fortnightly)

The salary for this position is based on thecurrent Senior Medical and Dental Officer collective agreement dependent onskills, experience, and vocational registration in NZ. SECA | ASMS

In addition to your salary, you will:

  • Receive a generous annual allowance cover your continued medicaleducation expenses (including associated travel and accommodation costs)as well as paid time off to attend events including internationalconferences.
  • Have access to an employer matched Superannuation contribution ofup to 6% of annual earnings.

The successful applicant will:

  • Work with a supportive multidisciplinary team.
  • Deliver quality services to improve health of the population inNelson.
  • Participate in the general medicine acute roster.
  • Teach and develop our growing junior medical workforce.
  • Actively contribute to the critical design of our newly approved225 clinical services block

Theideal applicant will:

  • Be able to work independently as a consultant in a provincialhospital.
  • Have background in General Medicine (preferred) as this will allow you to contribute to our acute rosterand run outpatient clinics in gastroenterology and endoscopy. However, yourleadership potential and drive for service enhancement is also important, so ifyour background is solely in gastroenterology this may still be the move foryou.
  • Have specialist accreditation ingastroenterology recognised by the NZ Gastroenterology Society
  • Hold Fellowship of the RoyalAustralasian College of Physicians or equivalent.
  • Be eligible for an Annual PractisingCertificate and vocational scope of Internal Medicine/Rural Hospital Medicinewith the Medical Council of New Zealand.
  • Work with others to promote a cohesive team culture ofcollaborative practice, openness, humour, and respect across disciplines.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuing medical education andprofessional development.
