Contract Financial Controller

The Role

Due to their current Financial Controller relocating overseas, this company seeks a contractor to provide essential support during a critical period. This role is pivotal as the organisation approaches year-end and prepares for its audit.

Operating across multiple sites in New Zealand, this organization is dedicated to health-related services. You will join a well-coordinated finance team that values collaboration and efficiency.
Your role will be crucial in maintaining seamless financial processes and supporting the team through a busy period.

Key Responsibilities

• Year-End Audit Process: Overseeing and managing the year-end audit process, including coordinating with external auditors and addressing any queries that arise.
• Monthly Management Reporting: Running the monthly management reporting for the group, ensuring accurate and timely consolidated financial reports.
• Tax Management: Overseeing tax and deferred tax calculations, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
• Cashflow Management: Monitoring and managing the organisation’s cash flow to ensure financial stability and operational efficiency.
• Dividend Calculations: Performing accurate dividend calculations in accordance with the company’s financial policies.
• GST and DWT Filing: Managing the filing of Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Dividend Withholding Tax (DWT), ensuring compliance with all filing requirements.
• Team Management: Directly managing a Financial Accountant, providing guidance, support, and oversight to ensure the team meets its objectives.

About You

Ideally, you will be available to start a position at short notice and be CA or CPA-qualified. You will have experience in the above responsibilities as a Financial or Senior Financial Accountant.
