Fa’avae ‘Ofanaki's vision is to take a collective approach, grounded in Pacific values and ways of working to achieve wellbeing for Pacific peoples in Tāmaki Makaurau, with a strong focus on those impacted by family violence and sexual violence. 

About the role

The Family Harm Coordinator role is to monitor capacity to inform SAM referrals. The role is skilled in performance monitoring, coordinating, organising and holds strong experience in working in the family violence sector with Pasifika family harm providers to respond to harm incidents and needs in South Auckland.

You will raise the practice quality of stakeholders by increasing the capability of the workforce responding to family violence. The coordinator will support the relevant organisations to participate and provide expert input and support for the South Auckland community.

What you will bring to the role:

• Excellent understanding of family harm sector, the family harm and family harm intervention in South Auckland
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and in plain language.
• Excellent planning, organisation, time management and record keeping skills. 
• A strong team player that respects the skills and expertise of team members. 
• Good character and standing within the Pasifika community with a high level of professional integrity and ethics. 
• Knowledge of and relationships with local Iwi and Pacific organisations and approaches that specialise in family harm interventions.

Relevant qualifications for the role:

• A relevant tertiary qualification.
• Experience working with Pasifika communities here in Tamaki Makaurau.
• Effective relationship management with agencies. 
• Experienced practitioner in family violence, social work and or health, mental health services.
