About the role

The Coordinator role will support the development and delivery of the Te Huringa ō Te Ao Programme to test and refine a new approach to supporting men's behaviour change and responding to family harm.

Te Huringa ō Te Ao represents the limitless potential for change and transformation. It speaks to profound moments in the lives of men and tane which can create key shifts within to support and influence change for individuals, their whanau and whakapapa. 

The Coordinator should have a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of family violence, prevention systems and be comfortable working across Pacific cultural frames of reference.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Excellent understanding of family harm sector, family violence and family harm intervention in South Auckland
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and in plain language.
  • Excellent group facilitation skills and understanding of group dynamics and processes.
  • Excellent assessment and treatment planning skills. 
  • Excellent planning, organisation and time management skills. 
  • A strong team player that respects the skills and expertise of team members. 
  • Good character and standing within the Pasifika community with a high level of professional integrity and ethics. 
  • Strong knowledge of and relationships with local Iwi and Pacific organisations and approaches that specialise in family harm interventions.
  • Understands the importance of healing, restoration, ‘Va’ and wellbeing in our family harm work.

Relevant qualifications for the role:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Experienced practitioner in family violence, social work and or health, mental health services.
  • More than 10 years' experience working with Pasifika communities.
