Corporate Lawyers | Associate or Senior Associate

Location: Auckland, Hamilton or Tauranga

At Tompkins Wake, our Corporate team is experiencing strong growth, and we are looking to appoint one or two talented lawyers at Associate and/or Senior Associate level.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a team delivering high-quality, complex work across a diverse range of sectors.

About the role

You’ll be part of a collaborative and well-regarded Corporate team advising on a broad mix of matters, with a particular emphasis on:

• Mergers & acquisitions (M&A) and business sales/purchases


• Corporate structuring, joint ventures and shareholder arrangements


• Commercial contracting and strategic advisory work


• Private capital, growth businesses and investment transactions


• Working with clients across key sectors including agribusiness, infrastructure, and high-growth enterprises

You will have the opportunity to take ownership of work appropriate to your level, while being supported by experienced Partners and senior lawyers across our national offices.

About you

We are interested in lawyers who bring:

• 5+ years’ PQE (flexible for the right candidate across Associate to Senior Associate level)


• Strong experience in corporate law, particularly M&A


• Sound commercial judgement and a solutions-focused mindset


• Excellent drafting, negotiation and client relationship skills


• A collaborative approach and desire to contribute to a high-performing team

Exposure to complex transactions, private equity, or cross-border matters will be advantageous.
