Job Description - Counter Sales – Hamilton

About the opportunity 
Always wanted to get into Customer Service/Sales? Our team in Hamilton are on the hunt for a reliable and energetic Counter Salesperson to join us to support our customers (mainly electricians) across the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. Reporting to the Branch Manager, your role is pivotal in supporting our customers by recommending suitable products, providing relevant quotes based on their needs, and offering top class customer service.

Although some experience in counter sales or customer service is an advantage, more than anything – we are looking for someone with the right attitude.  You’ll be willing to get stuck in with all aspects of counter sales in our branch. Having previous electrical and/or trade knowledge would be a plus point but is not essential; what’s important is a “can-do” attitude. We work together as a team and in doing so, we chip in wherever possible just to get the job done.

You’ll bring excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work well under pressure, natural attention to detail and experience in working with numerical data. Our preferred candidate holds a clean restricted or full driver’s license and enjoys constant learning and improvement. If you have initiative, bring a level of maturity and a positive approach, work well in a team and independently, we would love to hear from you.

In this role some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Serving customers over the counter, phone and email re: sales orders and enquiries
  • Sourcing products to suit customer’s needs, returns and credits 
  • Picking goods and collection of cash/payment from counter customers
  • Supporting the maintenance of branch standards (stock, cleanliness, shelves, etc)
  • Receiving, unpacking and inspecting incoming goods in a timely manner
  • Delivering items to customers on time, providing accurate paperwork with goods
  • General administration of all stock data and records, and merchandising duties
  • Ensuring Health & Safety protocols are adhered to at all times.  

The hours of work for this role are Monday to Friday, 7.30am – 5.00pm and approximately one rostered Saturday each month, from 8.00am – 11am
