Job Description - Credit Controller

The main purpose of this role is to ensure that The Skills Organisation’s debtors management processes are completed in a timely and professional manner. This role requires strong analytical skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. 

Job Description

Your key responsibilities: 

Credit Control

  • Cultivate strong relationships with customers to facilitate prompt payment and resolve payment disputes amicably. 
  • Collaborate with sales and account management teams to ensure alignment on credit terms and customer expectations. 
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding credit-related inquiries. 
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with customers to ensure timely payments. 
  • Ensure that Credit Requests are processed before the Monthly Statement Run 
  • Ensure that one-off invoices are raised before the Monthly Statement Run 
  • Small balance write-offs. 
  • FX write offs (SCG global accounts)) 
  • Suspense account checking and transferring where necessary via journals. 
  • Make sure all credit notes raised and journals completed. 
  • Check due dates on invoices for courses months out and change if necessary.
  • Run statements for top 50 and full ledger for all entities. 
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Credit Control lead 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • A tertiary qualification in the accounting or administration field desired but not essential.
  • Proven experience in credit control management, preferably in a similar industry or organisation. 
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and internal stakeholders. 
  • Proficiency in using accounting software, CRMs and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting. 
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Attention to detail and high accuracy
