Job Description - CRL Station Tester (Internal Secondment)
Auckland One Rail (AOR) is proud to operate Auckland’s rail services and support the transformation of our city’s transport network. As we move towards the opening of the City Rail Link (CRL), we are looking for a dedicated CRL Station Tester to support testing and commissioning activities across stages 5B–7 of the project.

About the role:
As a CRL Station Tester, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring the successful integration of systems and procedures within the new CRL stations. Working closely with the CRL delivery team, project entities and the Link Alliance, you’ll participate in comprehensive testing activities from desktop, training, trial operations to supporting the development of operating procedures, training, and competency frameworks.
This role may require evening and weekend work to meet key testing and commissioning milestones. You will also work across AOR and CRL project offices within the Auckland CBD
This is an internal secondment to start as soon as possible through to 30 June 2026.
What you'll be doing:
Participate in all T&C testing phases (desktop, training, trial operations) to validate station systems and operational procedures.
Collaborate with AOR and Link Alliance teams to ensure the various station roles are represented during stages 5B, 6 and 7.
Review, update and support CRL operational documentation, including CMS competency documents, operating plans and test schedules.
Train or familiarise team members in CRL-specific operational processes after completing initial training.
Ensure people and procedure readiness for Day 1 CRL operations.
Support a strong Health, Safety and Environment culture, championing safe behaviours and compliance across all activities.
Comply with AOR policies, including Code of Conduct, People & Culture policies, HSQE, IT and Risk Management.
Prior experience in a Station Controller role is preferred but not mandatory.
Strong knowledge of station operations, and safety standards.
Ability to interpret and apply operational processes, test plans and emergency procedures.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work collaboratively across diverse project teams.
Analytical thinking, with strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to meet vision, hearing and functional requirements necessary for the role.
Flexibility to work across various shifts (morning, afternoon, night) during testing phases.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be available to cover T&C requirements in any shift (Morning, Afternoon & Night)
