CRL - Train Operations Specialist (Internal Secondment)

Auckland One Rail (AOR) is seeking an experienced and motivated Train Operations Specialist to join our CRL Delivery team on a secondment basis. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the successful testing, commissioning, and operational readiness of the City Rail Link (CRL) project

As a Train Operations Specialist, you will manage the day-to-day operations of train crew involved in CRL testing and commissioning, training, and demonstration running. You’ll ensure compliance with operational standards, support crew certification, and lead training initiatives to prepare for Day 1 passenger operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing performance and rostering of CRL train crew and Test Train Officers.
• Leading train crew training programmes and competency assessments.
• Acting as Rail Incident Controller during CRL testing and commissioning.
• Supporting safety leadership and compliance with AOR policies.
• Driving trains when required and assisting with testing and commissioning activities.

• Current certification to drive passenger trains.

• TSM experience or minimum 5 years’ driving experience.

• RIC and TPI qualifications (or ability to attain).

• Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.

• Ability to work in a dynamic, project-focused environment.
