Job Description - CRM Manager

  • Lead a team to drive the development and optimisation of our Salesforce and ITSM ecosystems.

  • Make a tangible impact on the digital learning experiences of schools across Aotearoa, while enjoying hybrid working.

  • Provide technical vision and collaborate to shape our future-state CRM roadmap

About Us

We are a crown owned technology company that provides faster, safer internet for Aotearoa New Zealand’s schools and kura, with an aim to improve digital learning experiences and educational outcomes for all.

Since 2012 we have grown to support over 2,500 schools, operating one of the largest broadband networks in Aotearoa New Zealand,  meeting the connectivity and cybersecurity needs of 900,000+ ākonga and kaiako and accounting for nearly 25% of the country’s daytime business internet traffic.

But we’re so much more than that

We’re building tomorrow, together!

We believe in an inclusive approach that fosters collaboration with partners, customers, and each other for mutual success.

About the role:

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the role of CRM Manager is to lead a team to drive the development and optimisation of our Salesforce and ITSM ecosystems.

This is not a maintenance role.  You will be empowered to own the platform’s ROI, ensuring tools are 'fit-for-purpose' so our  front-office staff can deliver exceptional customer experiences with maximum efficiency.

Working closely with the architecture team, you will shape core design to integrate data sources and enable capabilities like  marketing automation, and AI Agents.  You'll ensure the platform delivers key projects at the desired run rate, providing technical vision for the team, and collaborate with the Head of Architecture to define and implement our future-state Salesforce roadmap.

What you will be doing

  • Lead and develop the CRM team, creating work breakdowns to support the growth and development of the tools.

  • Drive the exploration, integration and implementations of Salesforce capabilities

  • Work closely with the architecture team to overview the CRM and ITSM environment to provide technical leadership and vision.

  • Provide strategic and high-level solution approaches to projects and senior stakeholders.

  • Conduct regular reviews of the platform, procedures, and controls to ensure maximised ROI.

  • Produce Statements of Work for deliverables of external vendor partners, and manage business and technical relationships with them.

  • Manage agile workflows and ensure outsourced work is delivered on time and within budget.

  • Support, create, and maintain a positive culture within the CRM Team that focuses on delivering benefits to the end user.

What you will need to be successful:

  • Mid to senior level experience in Salesforce with a  background in large-scale data and enterprise environments.

  • Experience working in Salesforce and Jira service desk environments is highly desirable.

  • Proven ability to balance highly technical Salesforce knowledge with strong, empathetic leadership.

  • The ability to present a clear and structured strategic vision to senior stakeholders and negotiate effectively.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to negotiate, push back when necessary, and set realistic expectations.

  • Enterprise-level business analysis and technology project management experience is highly desirable.

About you

You are a self-starter, passionate about finding what needs to be done and making it happen.

You manage individuals in an inclusive and engaging way enabling them to perform, develop and grow and realise their potential.

You are a courageous leader who develops talent, manages conflict, and builds effective teams while maintaining a strong customer focus.

You are passionate about using your technical expertise for a greater purpose
