Job Description - Customer Service & Warehouse Support
Roofing Industries (a subsidiary of Vulcan Steel) is a New Zealand manufacturer of metal roofing and cladding products. With 15 branches nationwide, we provide reliable supply and localised service across the country.
About the Role
This role combines customer service with practical warehouse support. You’ll help customers at the counter, process orders accurately, and assist with loading and unloading roofing products. The work involves physical tasks and being comfortable working around materials and equipment in a warehouse setting.
Hours: Monday to Friday, between 7:00am – 5:00pm (approx. 40–45 hours per week)
What you’ll do:
Process customer orders and enter data accurately
Order flashings and check order details
Serve customers in branch and support with loading orders
Answer incoming phone calls and respond to enquiries
Receipt and check incoming shipments
Unload goods (manual handling or forklift if licensed)
Respond to customer emails in a timely, professional manner
Maintain accurate records for compliance
Support general warehouse and store operations
Duties may evolve to meet company needs
Experience in manufacturing, building supplies, trades, or warehousing (preferred)
Comfortable with physical work and handling materials
Basic computer skills (order entry, email, data accuracy)
Understanding of warehouse processes
Knowledge of NZ safety requirements (advantageous)
Strong attention to detail
Good communication skills (phone, email, and face-to-face)
Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Reliable, proactive, and willing to learn
