Job Description - Customer Services Manager

Permanent Full Time

Dunedin City Council (DCC)is the local authority for the wider Ōtepoti-Dunedin area. Our vision is to be one of the World's great small cities. Sitting within the DCC is the Customer and Regulatory Group who help keep residents safe, access the right information and services they need at the right time.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a talented Customer Solutions Manager to lead the customer solutions team. The team is responsible for providing accessible, adaptable, user-friendly services, tailored to customers' changing needs and ensuring that the city's residents feel valued and connected to DCC.

The role will provide the operational customer service gravitas along with a persuasive touch to foster individual and team growth within the existing team members to effectively deliver DCC's customer services. In addition, the position will work across the DCC promoting a high quality, customer-centric, agile approach to service delivery. It will lead evidence-based best practice in customer services including people and processes.

About you

Reporting to the GM Customer & Regulatory, this position requires a unique individual who has both excellent customer service management experience as well as a being a transformational leader who has experienced the success of bringing a team along with them to achieve the desired outcome. This requires strategic and analytical thinking, impeccable written and verbal communication skills.

In addition to the above, you will have:

  • competence in technology and its application in customer service delivery,
  • desire to grow the capabilities of their team and support excellent service to DCC customers.
  • prior experience in central or local government, or in a large complex organisation along with change projects in customer service would be preferred.
