About the role
Babcock is seeking a skilled Cyber Supplier Qualification Specialist to join our H&B Defence AUKUS program.This role plays a critical part in strengthening cyber security governance and assurance across a complex, high‑profile defence program.
You will guide suppliers through onboarding and qualification, ensuring they meet Australian, US and UK cyber security requirements. Your work will help safeguard sensitive information, uplift supplier capability, and support the secure delivery of a program of national significance.
You will collaborate closely with commercial, operations, procurement and technical stakeholders, contributing to risk management, compliance oversight, audit activities, and continuous improvement of cyber assurance processes. If you enjoy working in a technically challenging environment, solving problems, and influencing secure outcomes, this role offers meaningful impact within a purpose‑driven organisation.
About you
You are a detail‑driven cyber security professional who thrives in structured, high‑assurance environments. You bring experience in cyber frameworks, supplier assurance, or compliance, and you’re confident evaluating risks, interpreting standards, and communicating findings in clear, business‑friendly language.
You enjoy working with diverse stakeholders, supporting suppliers through complex requirements, and contributing to strong governance practices. You value accuracy, continuous improvement, and delivering high‑quality work in fast‑paced, mission‑focused settings.
To be successful in this position you will bring:
• Experience in cyber security framework development and testing
• Working knowledge of Australian, US and UK cyber regulatory requirements (e.g., Essential 8, NIST, DISP, CMMC 2.0)
• Proficiency in data analysis and cyber control development
• Experience contributing to process improvement and scalable planning solutions
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences
