The New Zealand Product and Data Team are responsible for:

  • Managing the consumer and advertiser product experience for our ad supported digital video product ThreeNow.

  • End-to-end digital data collection, management and activation across commercial, marketing, content and product teams.

  • Delivering actionable and accessible insights about WBD NZ’s products, content and consumers to enable data-lead decision making that drives profitable growth in audience and revenue.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Product & Data, the Data Analyst is a role designed to provide data and reporting support across key business activities, with a particular focus on commercial, content and product performance.

  • Commercial/Ad Sales support

Role Summary:

We are seeking a Data Analyst to join our team at WBD NZ. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our content, commercial, product and marketing teams across their range of business activity. Meaningful data and insights about WBD NZ’s audiences, covering both digital and broadcast products, are foundational to our commercial success. You will use a variety of data sources and tools to support commercial responses, develop insights and deliver reporting across the business.

Your responsibilities will include using data specific to our ad-funded digital video product ThreeNow to help understand digital audiences and to support digital content and product development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Insight Manager to provide regular sales collateral to support commercial responses and annual advertiser customer negotiations.

  • Collaborate with the Senior Analyst, Digital to develop insights into digital audience behaviors to inform content, commercial, product and marketing strategies and effectiveness.

  • Engage with the ANZ content team to support reporting requirements for Total TV (linear TV channels and digital platforms).

  • Build self-service tools and reports (including Power BI and Adobe Analytics reports) to reduce ad-hoc queries.

  • Update regular reports to support key business functions and processes.

  • Work with the broader digital data team to aid the smooth operation of data tools, and provide support to troubleshoot key issues.

  • Support creation and management of digital audience segments ready for activation on and off platform.

  • The Company may, after fair and reasonable consultation, change your duties, from time to time, for commercial reasons but not so as to substantially change the nature of the position.

  • Other duties as required.

Qualities Required:

  • 3+ years experience in a data, analytics, product or marketing role

  • Working knowledge of analytics (e.g. Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics), audience data (e.g. digital / TV ratings) and/or dashboarding tools (e.g. PowerBI or Tableau) is essential.

  • Ability to problem solve and provide actionable insights to address key business issues using a range of data sources, tools and information resources.

  • Skilled at data visualization and an ability communicate in an engaging and effective manner.

  • Knowledge of local media & entertainment industry is preferred, but not essential.
