The Role
Reporting to the Research Manager, the Data Quality Officer is responsible for ensuring that standards of source collection are maintained at the highest possible levels, that NZCR operates to ICH-GCP, good documentation practice, and ALCOA+. Your main tasks and responsibilities include:
- Monitoring data quality, by reviewing collection of, and changes to, source data and supporting documentation to ensure the integrity of data and that quality standards are adhered to.
- This includes contemporaneous Quality Control (QC) of source information collected, reviewing for attributability, legibility, originality, accuracy, and completeness, as well as evaluating data as a whole in order to identify less obvious irregularities.
- Liaise with relevant staff eg doctors, nursing, laboratory on observations in a timely manner for any clarifications to maintain data quality.
- Document observations, identify trends, and analyse for improvement initiatives. Advise on areas where data quality needs to be improved to inform decision-making.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with department heads, to provide recognition of good performance, information, and advice regarding data quality issues and support the effective collection of clinical trial data.
About You:
- Tertiary degree in a science-based discipline or working towards such a degree.
- Work or academic experience that shows a requirement for attention to detail and scientific understanding.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Good knowledge of science and medical terminology.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Ability and desire to seek, respond to, and provide critique for continuous improvement of self and colleagues.
