Design Engineer & Estimator -Dexion Supply Centre - Competitive Pay

Our client Dexion Supply Centre, Auckland  is continuing to build on its successful sales growth in industrial shelving and storage solutions, and is looking for a Design Estimator to join the team.

In 1946, Demetrius Comino, looking for a better shelving solution, invented the first slotted angle steel construction system, which become known as Dexion. It revolutionised materials handling and storage worldwide , resulting in Dexion becoming the leading racking supplier, providing products from simple storage to fully integrated warehousing solutions.

The role

Reporting to the General Manager, this role is responsible for  designing, specifying and costing pallet racking and storage systems for clients. Collaborating with the team and taking ownership of projects from start to finish is important.

Key aspects of the role include:

·       Creation of engineering designs using Dexion product design specifications to meet the project scopes

·       Preparation if a Bill of Materials to fulfill project design specifications

·       Compilation of all facets of the project pricing to provide a Pricing schedule to the Sales Team

·       Liaise with the Warehouse Manager to ensure stock is available and provide alternative procurement options if needed

·       Project administration which includes ordering and approving supplier invoices.

Who we need

You’ll have a good understanding of engineering design principles as you will be designing and specifying for warehouses and logistics centres. You don’t require a structural engineering qualification for this role as there is support in-house, but you’ll need some design experience with a working knowledge of CAD.

 Having a key eye for detail  and a high level of accuracy is essential along an ability to follow through.
