Dispatcher - Night Shift

We’re passionate about our role in delivering the finest of Kiwi food, and it’s our people in depots and out on the road every day who work vigilantly to ensure the safety and freshness of the product we store or deliver. Our people drive our business, literally!

Whilst you won’t be on the road, your energy and focus will be on all shipments/orders to and from our Palmerston North depot, ensuring that they are delivered or picked up within the agreed timeframes, ensuring all truck routes/loading points are optimised at all times – where possible keeping everyone ahead of schedule.

What would you be doing?  

• Efficiently plan freight and dedicated services from depot to destination
• Pro-active communicate operational issues. e.g. incidents and delivery delays
• Create delivery manifests or run sheets for the allocated runs
• Arrange and manage overflow volumes as required to meet delivery times.
• Ensure that all source and transit documentation is completed correctly
• Prepare consignment notes and job bookings for pallet rated movements
• Hours Sunday to Thursday, 1900 - 0530 (50 hours per week) 

What you'll need to be brilliant:  

• A minimum of 1+ years' experience in transport dispatch
• Knowledge of transport management systems. Experience with Truck Mate will be a huge advantage
• A strong knowledge of how FMCG works in New Zealand
• Strong planning, organising, record-maintaining and time management skills
• Sound geographical knowledge of New Zealand is desired
