About the role:

Based in Auckland, and reporting to the Regional Sales Manager the role will play a critical role in supporting sales team activities and will bring strong customer centricity, and solution focus to drive better business and customer outcomes. 

This role combines both Business Development Manager responsibilities (BDM) and Product Management. 

Key Accountabilities 

  1. Manage a portfolio of brokers in line with growth targets per BDM role description
  2. Drive improved, insights, market trends, and manage the levers available to achieve sustainable and profitable loan growth
  3. Represent Elantis at Conferences, PD Days and Events
  4. Support for the sales team by:
    • Working closely with Regional Sales Manager to monitor the financial performance of NZ, then implement changes to system or process as required 
    • Manage stakeholder relationships through regular meetings in line with Strategic Agreements, manage complaints and escalate as required 
    • SLA renewals and renegotiations - assist CEO and Regional Sales Manager to renegotiate these contracts when required 
    • Act as an escalation point for other BDMs for pricing decisions within the delegated pricing authority matrix
    • Support Regional Sales Manager and Finance to monitor and analyse NZ SLAs for correct accruals
  5. Play a strong supporting role in establishing strategic plans, help coordinate and drive execution
  6. Monitor and help facilitate change requirements led by regulatory changes
  7. Manage BDM, assist with Sales training and guidance, 1/1’s, support to help grow new business and assist with generating new leads

About you:

We are looking for someone who is highly self-motivated and driven, possessing exceptional communication skills. It is important that you have a genuine interest in people and enjoy building relationships. Additionally, strong organizational and time management skills, as well as attention to detail, are essential. Having a genuine interest in people and developing relationships, also known as emotional intelligence (EQ), is highly valued.

 To be successful in this role, you will also have:

  • Dip Fin Services or other tertiary relation qualifications desirable
  • Previous Funding or Insurance experience
  • Previous BDM / Sales experience preferred
  • NZ regulation knowledge (eg good understanding of the NZ Commerce Commission and FSF)
  • Ability to identify opportunities and negotiate outcomes with a range of stakeholders internal and external
  • Moderate Leadership skills
  • Demonstrates genuine curiosity to learn and delve deeper
  • Ability to remain composed under pressure
  • Good problem solving skills
