We are currently seeking a highly motivated, experienced Drill Operator/Locator to join our high performing Christchurch Team. As a Drill Operator/Locator you will require a broad range of skills and abilities ensure work is carried out to industry and company standards.
The Role
This role requires a balance of working independently and collaborating with a dynamic team to get the job done right. Weekend availability essential and willingness to complete night work.
• Operate the directional drill or other equipment to complete build works as detailed by drawings and our clients’ standards.
• Ensure all prestart documentation, permits, quality assurance, and compliance documentation is completed.
• Perform and deliver work activity as per agreed designs and project specifications.
• Locate services and interpret utility plans.
• Monitor drilling progress - ensure optimal performance and alignment with project objectives.
• Conduct routine inspections and perform preventative maintenance on directional drilling machinery
• Collaborate effectively with the team to efficiently and safely achieve project goals
What you bring
• Minimum 2-3 years Directional Drilling operation and locating
• Proven experience labouring within civil teams - Physically fit
• New Zealand Class 1 Full Drivers Licence
• Wheels, Tracks and Rollers endorsement
• Class 2 are preferred but not essential
• Traffic Management
• Strong logic, planning and problem-solving ability
• Respect for other with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
