Working in an Ice Bar isn’t your average hospitality job.

Every day you’ll meet people from all over the world, help them gear up for a sub-zero experience, serve drinks from glasses made of ice, and make sure they leave talking about their time with us long after they’ve left Queenstown.

We’re part of Future Hospitality Group (FHG), a locally owned business with six unique venues and one shared goal: to keep raising the standard of hospitality in Queenstown.

We’re looking for a Duty Manager to help run the day-to-day operation across our two Ice Bars. You’ll be in service, supporting the team, keeping operations running smoothly, solving problems as they arise, and making sure every guest has a fantastic experience from the moment they arrive.

This role would suit an experienced Duty Manager, or someone already working as a Supervisor, Senior Host or Team Leader who’s ready for the next challenge.

What you’ll be doing

• Running the shift and making sure service flows smoothly from open to close.


• Supporting the Venue Manager with the day-to-day operation of both Ice Bars.


• Working alongside the team in reception and inside the ice bar, jumping in wherever you’re needed.


• Welcoming guests from around the world and helping create an experience they’ll remember.


• Encouraging retail and beverage sales through genuine conversations with guests.


• Completing opening and closing procedures, cash handling, stock control and daily venue checks.


• Making sure host responsibility, licensing and health and safety standards are always met.


• Helping the team during service, answering questions, solving issues and keeping standards high.

About You

You may already have hospitality or tourism experience and enjoy being the person others look to during a busy shift.

You’ll also have:

• Experience as a Supervisor, Senior Host, Team Leader or Duty Manager.


• A genuine passion for hospitality and looking after people.


• Confidence making decisions and staying calm when things get busy.


• The ability to build rapport with guests from all walks of life.


• A current LCQ and Manager’s Certificate, or the ability to obtain one.
