Job DescriptionTe Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for a Centre Chef to join our team. The centre cook plays a vital part in what we do. We place huge importance in offering our children local, fresh and tasty food options providing a healthy and balanced diet that fuels their learning, growth and development. We have a Gold Healthy Heart Award.We value someone who is passionate about providing quality, healthy food options, has great communication skills and can work efficiently & independently. You will work with our menu, as well as our Centres policies, Food Safety regulations and health and safety protocols. Key tasks include, but are not limited to: Preparing and serving of meals, including: morning tea, lunch and afternoon teaMenu planning and working alongside our partner Learn by Heart, ensuring were adhering to a healthy and balanced diet for our TamarikiAllergy management and catering for children with food allergies and intolerances (a good understanding of this is imperative)Budget management: purchasing appropriate ingredients and ensuring sufficient stocks are on hand.Placing food orders online (must be a confident computer user)Ensuring health & safety standards and regulations are met and maintained at a high level at all timesMaintaining a high level of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen. Managing time and recourses in the kitchen efficiently.This is a part-time ( hours per week), permanent position.Remuneration is $48,615 - $56,100 pro-rata for part time hours, dependent on skills and experience. The working hours are approximately 9am to inclusive of a 30 minute lunch break, Monday to Friday.
