The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi 

Little Doves Early Learning Centre is nestled in the grounds of Kristin School, offering an environment for rich exploration, play and learning for children 6 months to four years. Set in stunning landscaped gardens, in an architecturally designed building, the centre is licensed for 75 children and is committed to delivering exceptional early learning and care for young children.

We draw inspiration from the early learning centres of Reggio Emilia, interpreted for our context and through the lens of Te Whāriki. Children and teachers engage in projects, inquiries and encounters that spark curiosity and foster ongoing thinking and dialogue, and which give children the opportunity to build meaningful understandings and knowledge, alongside a sense of themselves as competent and capable learners.

Children, teachers and families work together with respect, integrity and aroha to create a strong learning community in which children thrive, learn and grow. We know that it is only when children feel safe, secure and nurtured that they are able to truly flourish, to explore and to learn, and to reach their full potential. We also know that teachers must likewise be supported, well-resourced and valued in order to reach their own full potential as educators.

A rare opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and engaging teacher to join our team in a permanent position. You will work a nine-day fortnight, with one rostered day off every second week. You are paid to attend planning meetings every Monday evening, 4.30pm - 6.30pm.

Kristin offers a premium above the Kindergarten Teacher Collective Agreement pay scale (i.e full pay parity with kindergarten and school teachers), generous non-contact time and 15 days sick leave per annum.
