We're now looking for an Ecology Consultant to join us in Dunedin, supporting our national Ecology & Marine Science team across projects, with a focus on freshwater Ecology. 

 

About the role:

Reporting to the Dunedin Ecology Manager, you will be responsible for supporting on the delivery of freshwater Ecology projects, throughout the region. You will manage small projects and support senior staff with more complex projects too, continuing to develop your technical skills. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support project delivery using established ecology practices
  • Ongoing professional development and participation in professional associations
  • Share expertise within ecology and across other technical disciplines
  • Assist with the delivery of large projects and manage small projects
  • Monthly invoices and weekly timesheets
  • Prepare reports and data for clients
  • Prepare quality proposals and assist in preparing and winning tenders
  • Utilise financial management and job reporting systems

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 4+ years experience as a Freshwater Ecologist
  • Consultancy experience highly desirable
  • New Zealand Ecology knowledge
  • Experience in Ecological effects assessment, management and restoration
  • CenvP Ecology specialist certification or actively working towards it
  • Excellent relationship building and communication skills
  • A team player with a passion for Making Sustainability Happen

The salary range for this role is between $70,000 and $80,000 depending on an individual's skills and experience.
