Economic Service Manager - Northern North Island

We’re looking for an Economic Service Manager to join our team and contribute to our nationally recognised survey and forecasting programme. In this role, you’ll work closely with sheep and beef farmers in your region to collect and analyse farm financial and production data. Your insights will help shape industry understanding and inform decision-making at both regional and national levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with survey farmers to collect accurate financial and production data.


• Analyse and interpret farm data to contribute to the annual survey and forecasting programme.


• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality data and insights.


• Represent Beef + Lamb New Zealand at regional and national forums, contributing to collaborative processes.

What You’ll Bring

• A tertiary qualification with a focus on farm management systems and financial analysis.


• Proven ability to build trust and rapport with farmers and stakeholders.


• Strong analytical and computational skills, with excellent attention to detail.


• Effective time management and the ability to work autonomously.


• Experience in a farmer-facing role is highly desirable.


• A proactive, organised approach to managing a portfolio of farm businesses.

Location & Travel

This full-time role is ideally based in our Hamilton office, with occasional travel required across Northland, Auckland, Western Waikato, and Ruapehu regions. A company vehicle is included in the package (with reasonable private use).
