Job Description - Editor - Wairarapa Times Age

Stuff Masthead Publishing is seeking an exceptional and influential leader as Wairarapa Times Age Editor. You'll be a courageous leader with fresh ideas to help us reach more audiences in the region than ever. You'll be a champion of your team and the region and will enjoy writing as part of your role. Innovation and collaboration and a passion for great journalism will be in your toolkit as well as having a great network of contacts.This is a senior role and you must be comfortable driving change and innovation.We are seeking a leader with the following attributes:Ability to lead and drive the newsroomA strong understanding of diverse communities within the region and ability to drive content representing these communitiesAbility to work collaboratively with colleagues across New Zealand to support the attainment of Stuff's strategic goals and Te Tiriti and Pou Tiaki commitmentsA commitment to leading trusted, relatable and relevant journalism aligned to Stuff's Content and Audience StrategyBe active representing Stuff Masthead Publishing publicly in external forums and mediaIdentify opportunities to grow our connection with key stakeholdersReflect and represent the Stuff strategy, personality and values through leadership style and external interactionsAbility to work collaboratively with the Editors-in-Chief and Editors to lead the national content team and support courageous journalism and a world-class newsroomPassion to support our people and our ambition to be the very best place in Aotearoa to be an outstanding journalistA commitment to effectively execute the editorial strategy.We want someone who will be right at the heart of serving our communities with high-quality, independent journalism.Think you can do the job?
