We have a fantastic opportunity for an EHS Manager (NZ) to join our team on a full-time permanent basis. Regular national travel is required in this role, and occasional international.

A successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and facilitating Valmont’s health, safety and environmental programmes and policies. This position works directly in partnership with operational leaders and managers to drive excellence in conjunction with Valmont Global Standards.

Your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Develop and deliver EHS training and awareness programs.
  • Showcase safety and promote proactive risk management.
  • Enhance and implement EHS Global Standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to implement and uphold safety standards.
  • Support site management in maintaining legislative compliance for EHS.
  • Facilitate investigations and risk assessments for incidents and hazards.
  • Develop corrective and preventive actions to improve safety performance.
  • Manage and ensure compliance with the site Critical Risk Program.
  • Conduct regular EHS audits and prepare for external and internal audits.
  • Coordinate essential safety training across various sites.
  • Maintain and update the Safety Management System (Intelex).

About you

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or EHS and/or a related field
  • At least 5 years as an WHS professional, with a sound understanding of, a enthusiasm for, environmental.
  • Strong understanding of Environment, Health, and Safety legislation with ability to write policies and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of compliance and accompanying systems to monitor and measure environment safety outcomes.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines, work effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to partner with all levels of the business.
