Elastic Engineer | Senior Elastic Engineer

We're looking for an Elastic Engineer with genuine hands-on Elasticsearch experience to join our technical team.

We're flexible on level. You might already be working as a Senior Engineer, or you might be earlier in your career with strong Elastic capability and ready for your next step. We're more interested in what you've actually done with Elasticsearch than the title on your CV.

What we're looking for

The key requirement is hands-on experience managing Elasticsearch clusters in real production environments.

You'll need practical experience with:

• Elasticsearch cluster administration, health, performance and troubleshooting;


• indices, shards, replicas, mappings and templates;


• storage, capacity, data tiers and resource management;


• Index Lifecycle Management (ILM), retention and lifecycle strategies;


• snapshots, backup, recovery and resilience; and


• the wider Elastic Stack — particularly Logstash, Beats and Elastic Agent — including building and running data ingestion pipelines.

This is the core of the role. If you're strong in these areas, we'd like to talk.

Beyond that, experience with Linux, AWS or Azure, Terraform, Ansible, scripting, Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift, CI/CD, Elastic Observability or Elastic Security would all be useful — but we don't expect you to have everything.

You'll be working across customer project and managed service environments, so you'll also need to be comfortable troubleshooting problems, communicating with customers and other engineers, documenting your work and taking ownership of issues through to resolution.

For someone earlier in their career, we're particularly interested in technical depth, curiosity and trajectory. If you've developed strong hands-on Elasticsearch skills but haven't yet had the opportunity to take on architecture, consulting or technical leadership responsibilities, don't let that put you off. Those are capabilities you can develop as the role grows.

For a more experienced engineer, there will be opportunities to contribute to solution design, technical workshops, architecture discussions, mentoring and pre-sales activities.
