💡 Your mission as Engineering Lead

We're looking for someone exceptional to join our team as an Engineering Lead—someone who loves solving complex problems, thrives in cross-functional collaboration, and wants to shape technology that genuinely makes a difference.

At Valocity, we’re a global team (with hubs in Wellington, Auckland, Australia, and India), and this role is based in our Wellington office, working hybrid with 3 days a week on-site in our fantastic workspace. We’re building AI-driven, cloud-native platforms that are transforming how property decisions are made—for people and for the planet.

Our core tech stack includes .NET (C#) and Angular, hosted on Microsoft Azure. We’re looking for someone with strong hands-on technical knowledge and leadership experience in these technologies who’s ready to help guide and grow a team building high-impact SaaS products.

You'll be hands-on, deeply technical, and focused on outcomes (from design to deployment) with an eye on security, scalability, and sustainability.

🧩 What you’ll do

• Lead the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for a key product


• Make pivotal technology choices that shape future growth


• Guide and grow a cross-functional team of engineers and testers


• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle: analysis, design, delivery, and support


• Ensure the product excels in performance, security, reliability, and cost-efficiency


• Drive DevOps practices, automation, and continuous delivery


• Lead incident response, mitigation strategies, and reliability improvements


• Collaborate across Valocity’s global tech leadership to align on standards and innovation


• Champion engineering culture, continuous learning, and team development


• Foster innovation and experimentation in your domain

🔍 What we’re looking for

Experience and skills

• 5+ years in software engineering with deep hands-on expertise


• Leadership of cross-functional tech teams in SaaS environments


• Proven experience with microservices, APIs, and domain-driven design


• Deep understanding of non-functionals - performance, security, availability, reliability


• Track record of shipping scalable SaaS products in fast-paced environments


• Familiarity with modern CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and observability tools
