Engineering Manager - Manufacturing

A leading New Zealand manufacturer seeks a highly motivated and results-oriented Engineering Manager to oversee maintenance and capital improvement/expansion projects.

In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for:

• Ensuring Health & Safety and Food Safety compliance through established protocols and adherence to regulations.
• Managing all engineering facets including building services, contractors, and specialized tradespeople.
• Hands on - provide on the job guidance for the engineering team and engineering input to the production team.
• Optimizing maintenance operations using a CMMS system, ensuring preventative maintenance plans are in place, and minimizing downtime.
• Developing and implementing a 5-year Maintenance Strategy and Capex Strategy to prioritize projects and manage budgets effectively.
• Leading a team of maintenance personnel, providing training and development opportunities, and fostering a positive work environment.
• Building strong relationships with colleagues across Manufacturing, Planning, Logistics, Sales, and Accounts departments.

To be successful, you will possess:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in capital design and maintenance, with a strong understanding of maintenance philosophies and techniques.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and ensure adherence to financial targets.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
• A proactive, results-oriented approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Tertiary qualification (BE/NZCE Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
• Experience in a Food Manufacturing environment (desirable).
