Enterprise Data Lead

As Comvita expands its technology portfolio, our IT function is seeking an Enterprise Data Lead. This is a technical leadership role responsible for establishing and embedding robust company wide data governance and data management practices, with clear ownership of data standards, policies, architecture, and stewardship frameworks across the organisation.

About the role

Operating at the intersection of IT and the business, the Enterprise Data Lead defines and governs how data is architected, integrated, accessed, protected, and managed across core business systems, including ownership of enterprise data platforms, associated integrations, and data lifecycle controls.

The role works closely with IT delivery teams, system owners, and business stakeholders to align data governance requirements with platform capabilities, system design, and operational processes. 

Some Key Responsibilities

• Ensure data structure and governance aligns with enterprise data architecture, integration patterns and cloud/on-prem platforms.


• Provide technical oversight of master data, reference data and key databases.


• Lead the design, implementation and maintenance of Comvita’s enterprise data management framework, policies and standards from a technical standpoint.


• Lead Power BI tenant administration, including capacity management, gateways, refresh schedules, and service reliability.


• Own and manage enterprise data platforms and data warehouse, ensuring availability, performance, security, and integration across core systems.


• Provide hands-on technical oversight and support for data platform operations and optimisation.


• Establish and monitor data quality controls, metrics, monitoring mechanisms and remediation processes.


• Enable reliable analytics and reporting by ensuring source data is accurate, consistent and well-governed.


• Act as a technical authority and advisor on data governance and data management practices.

What we would like from you

• 8+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles, preferably in complex, multi-channel supply chain organisations. 


• Proven track record in managing master data, metadata, enterprise data platforms in both cloud and on-premises environments, as well as Power BI. 


• Experience owning and administering enterprise analytics platforms, including Power BI governance and tenant management.


• Hands on experience managing enterprise data platforms, databases, or data warehouses in production environments.


• Tertiary education in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Science, Business, or related field


• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CDMP, DAMA, Data Governance, or similar) are highly desirable.
