Your new roleTo be based in Wanaka, as the Estimator/Quantity Surveyor you will be coming into the business and be working with a stable and supportive team, working closely with the Commercial Manager, alongside project teams, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
This is an end-to-end Quantity Surveying role, which will see you working independently and running your own jobs from Pre-Construction Estimating through to Post Contract Quantity Surveying.
Responsibilities include:
Pre-Construction Estimating:
- Prepare tender documents and assist in bid submissions
- Compile SoQ's in line with standard methods of measurement
- Cost estimation utilising cost planning, elemental, and first principle estimating techniques
Post-Contract Quantity Surveying: - Procurement
- Contract Administration
- Claim and Subcontract Payment schedule processing
- Cost control and variation management
- Monthly cost reporting
What you need to succeed - Degree qualified in Construction Management/Quantity Surveyor or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years working on commercial construction projects from NZ/AUS market
- Strong leadership skills, negotiation and communication skills
- Intermediate to advanced in using CostX measurement and estimating functions
- Understanding of NZ Standards methods of measurement
- Understanding of NZS3910/3916 and Master Builders SA 2017
You will have a strong commercial acumen, experience with contractual negotiations with subcontractor packages and the ability to maintain relationships with key stakeholders are vital in this role.
