ETL Developer, 12-Month Contract. Large Data Migration Project, Wellington-based. Circa $125 per hour. Your new company


We are seeking an experienced ETL Developer for a long-term contract. You will play a critical role in driving organisational transformation and ensuring successful implementation of the Data Migration.


Your new role

I'm seeking an experienced ETL Developer for a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will play a critical role in evaluating, designing, and implementing data engineering solutions as part of a significant data migration initiative.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, design, and implement data engineering solutions.
• Structure and store data for re-use, ensuring appropriate storage in compliance with relevant legislation.
• Integrate, consolidate, and cleanse data from various sources.
• Migrate and convert data to the target system.
• Build security, compliance, scalability, efficiency, and reliability into the software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment, following modern software delivery practices.
• Utilise tools such as AWS Glue for ETL processes.
• Work with Informix and Postgres databases (Postgres experience is essential).
• Leverage AWS RDS and have user-level experience with AWS services.
• Use Jira and GitHub actions for project management and version control.

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience in large-scale data migration projects.
• Familiarity with modern software delivery practices, including test automation and delivery pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Experience in large-scale data migration
• Experience in modern software delivery practices and concepts (test automation, delivery pipelines)
• Experience working in an agile environment and SAFETools and DBs.
• Ideally, experience or working knowledge of: Informix and Postgres (where Postgres is more important), AWS RDS, AWS Glue (as preferred ETL candidate solution), AWS user level experience Jira and GitHub actions, One or more of Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Java, Groovy
