  • Supporting community groups, event organisers and stakeholders with advice and guidance throughout the event planning process

  • Monitoring permitted events and assisting with compliance-related matters

  • Building strong relationships with local boards, community organisations and event sector stakeholders

  • Contributing to local event programmes and annual event activity planning

  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and helping deliver consistent event facilitation practices

  • Supporting the delivery of local events and community initiatives when required

You understand how to balance customer needs with regulatory requirements and can confidently manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Whether your experience comes from events, project coordination, community engagement, hospitality, local government or a related field, you'll bring strong organisational skills, sound judgement and a genuine passion for supporting Auckland's communities.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Strong stakeholder management, relationship-building and customer service skills

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with diverse communities and stakeholders

  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • A full, clean New Zealand driver's licence

It would be advantageous if you also bring:

  • A qualification in event management, hospitality, communications, marketing, public relations, business or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience in a similar field.

  • Experience working within local government, community organisations or regulatory environments

  • Knowledge of event permitting, compliance or community-led events
