Due to internal movements and organisational change, we have an opportunity arise for an Executive Director Tiriti Partnerships and Māori Success will lead and implement Māori student success strategic initiatives striving towards Te Tiriti o Waitangi Excellence.

The Executive Director Tiriti Partnerships and Māori Success is accountable for the strategic leadership of Māori-Crown Relations and Te Tiriti o Waitangi excellence within and for Toi Ohomai ensuring; institutional governance, management and operations give effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi; Māori are recognised as critical partners in regional social, environmental, and economic development; and Toi Ohomai responds to the needs of and improve outcomes for learners, whanau, hapu, iwi, and employers.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $180,000 up to $200,000, dependent on skills and experience.

The Executive Director Tiriti Partnerships and Māori Success is can be based in either Rotorua or Tauranga as part of Toi Ohomai | Te Pūkenga reporting to the Regional Executive Director – Rohe Rua and will be responsible for: 

· Provide strategic leadership of Toi Ohomai Māori-Crown relations at Toi Ohomai and ensure that Toi Ohomai governance, management and operations give effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

· Maintain and enhance the mana ōrite Tiriti relationship with Te Kāhui Mātauranga, implement the Te Kāhui Mātauranga framework, including achievement of the Mana Ōrite Tiriti Relationship Agreement deliverables .

· Leading Toi Ohomai’s capability growth, to lift understanding and respond effectively to the needs of Māori and iwi within Toi Ohomai communities. 

To be successful in this role you will have:

· Proven thought leadership and strategic advisory experience, particularly in the context of establishing a Tiriti o Waitangi honouring organisation and creating system change for Māori. 

· Demonstrated experience in operationalising strategies and frameworks, developing business plans, and managing risks and operational and strategic issues. 

· Experience in advocating and leading the inclusion and application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi practices, advocating the use of te reo, tikanga and mātauranga Māori in the workplace.
