Job Description - Executive Assistant (Fixed Term 12-months) - Innovative Company

We are in search of a resourceful Executive Assistant (Fixed Term 12-months) to join our innovative team at Barnardos in Te Aro, Wellington.

About the role

As an experienced EA you’ll enjoy using your skills in providing professional high quality executive level support directly to our Chief Executive.  The role is critical in ensuring the CE can focus on what matters most and you’ll enjoy a variety of work in an organisation that supports so many tamariki, rangatahi and whānau across Aotearoa, including attending and taking effective minutes at meetings.  You will work to ensure the delivery of quality support at executive and Board levels.

Your organisational skills will be second to none, and you will be quickly foster connections across Barnardos to ensure our governance, strategic and operational leaders are well supported to do their work. 

You will

  • Work with our new CE to develop and manage agendas, schedule of actions, risk and privacy registers, minutes of meetings, and all information management processes for effective governance
  • Provide proactive highly responsive support to the CE, including diary management, prioritising correspondence and providing information needed to support decision making
  • Play a key role in supporting our privacy requirements
  • Be a key link across the executive team, providing support across a range of priority work to deliver to our business goals.

This role is a 12-month fixed term role  covering parental leave, starting in early August 2024.  We are open to flexible work between 32 – 40 hours negotiable with the successful applicant.

You will be an outstanding, well-organised and efficient Executive Assistant excited about making a difference for children. To undertake this role you will bring your: 

  • previous experience as an Executive Assistant to a CE and/or Board 
  • strong relationship building and communication skills across different levels of an organisation 
  • accurate minute taking skills within a complex environment
  • a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines

Some experience in a community service organisation, Government or the not-for-profit sector would be ideal but not essential.
