Position Overview
IMG is seeking an experienced Fabricator Welder to join our dynamic team on-site at our Glenbrook Site. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding and fabrication, with a focus on safety, quality, and attention to detail. This role involves fabricating, assembling, and welding metal parts and structures according to specifications, including pipe welding to ASME1 standards. As a Fabricator Welder, you will need to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining technical proficiency and adhering to the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Fabricate and assemble metal components and structures based on detailed blueprints and specifications.
Perform various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and pipe welding to ASME1 standards, ensuring precise and high-quality welds.
Inspect welded surfaces and structures to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
Conduct routine maintenance and upkeep of welding equipment and tools.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment at all times.
Work closely with fellow team members to complete projects efficiently and meet deadlines.
Qualifications
Ideally a Trade-qualified Boilermaker or equivalent.
Proven experience as a Fabricator Welder in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Strong experience in pipe welding, particularly to ASMEX1 standards, is highly desirable for this role.
Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques.
Experience in fitting and site maintenance is also highly valued.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong focus on precision and quality in all aspects of work.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Requirements
Must be based in New Zealand and have the right to work in the country.
Will be required to complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
