Position Overview

IMG is seeking an experienced Fabricator Welder to join our dynamic team on-site at our Glenbrook Site. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding and fabrication, with a focus on safety, quality, and attention to detail. This role involves fabricating, assembling, and welding metal parts and structures according to specifications, including pipe welding to ASME1 standards. As a Fabricator Welder, you will need to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining technical proficiency and adhering to the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble metal components and structures based on detailed blueprints and specifications.


• Perform various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and pipe welding to ASME1 standards, ensuring precise and high-quality welds.


• Inspect welded surfaces and structures to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.


• Conduct routine maintenance and upkeep of welding equipment and tools.


• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment at all times.


• Work closely with fellow team members to complete projects efficiently and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Ideally a Trade-qualified Boilermaker or equivalent.


• Proven experience as a Fabricator Welder in an industrial or manufacturing setting.


• Strong experience in pipe welding, particularly to ASMEX1 standards, is highly desirable for this role.


• Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques.
• Experience in fitting and site maintenance is also highly valued.


• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.


• Strong focus on precision and quality in all aspects of work.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Requirements

• Must be based in New Zealand and have the right to work in the country.


• Will be required to complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
