At Sealed Air, we're committed to creating a safer, more sustainable future. We are seeking a practical, hands-on Facilities Maintenance & Recycling Operator to support both our site recycling operations and facilities maintenance activities.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their day, takes pride in maintaining a safe and professional workplace, and thrives on solving practical problems. You'll play a critical role in supporting our sustainability objectives while helping maintain the site, buildings, and grounds to a high standard.
Recycling Operations
• Operate recycling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Collect, sort, and prepare recyclable materials.
• Operate balers, compactors, and associated equipment.
• Coordinate recycling collections with external providers.
• Monitor waste streams and identify opportunities for waste reduction.
• Maintain accurate records and reporting.
• Ensure recycling areas remain clean, organised, and safe.
Facilities Maintenance
• Perform general building maintenance and repair work.
• Complete painting, minor carpentry, plumbing, and repair tasks.
• Repair doors, windows, locks, shelving, and office furniture.
• Maintain external areas including grounds, fencing, signage, and walkways.
• Assist with office relocations and facility improvement projects.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests across the site.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
Contractor & Facilities Support
• Coordinate and monitor contractors working on site.
• Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, and infrastructure.
• Identify maintenance issues and raise corrective actions.
• Provide occasional support and cover for the Facilities Superintendent when required.
Essential
• Experience in general maintenance, facilities support, trades assistance, or handyman work.
• Confidence using hand and power tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Ability to work independently and manage your workload.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks.
Highly Regarded
• Facilities maintenance experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Knowledge of recycling, waste management, or sustainability operations.
• Experience coordinating contractors.
• Forklift Licence.
• Elevated Work Platform (EWP) certification.
• First Aid Certificate.
