Senior Solicitor – Family Law | Auckland

Tompkins Wake is seeking a talented and passionate Senior Solicitor (3+ years PQE) to join our leading Family Law team in Auckland. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside some of New Zealand’s most respected family law specialists in a firm recognised for excellence, collaboration, and client care.

This role has become available as one of our team embarks on their OE, and we’re looking for someone who can step in with confidence, compassion, and a commitment to delivering exceptional legal support.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll be working across a broad range of family law matters, including:

• Care of Children


• Child Support


• Dissolution (Divorce)


• Relationship Property Disputes


• Spousal Maintenance


• Contracting Out/Pre-Nuptial Agreements


• Family Violence

Your day-to-day will include:

• Running files with supervision


• Providing litigation support


• Researching and drafting legal documents


• Appearing in court, including hearings

What we’re looking for:

• A minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience in family law


• Strong interest and experience in Relationship Property and Care of Children matters


• General litigation experience and familiarity with PPPR Act applications


• Excellent analytical, written, and advocacy skills


• Confidence, initiative, and a calm, considered approach


• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
