About the Role
Wade Group is looking for an experienced Field Service Technician to support the maintenance, repair, and handover of our bespoke vehicle fleet. Based in our Hamilton workshop, this role includes travel across New Zealand (primarily the North Island) to service and support our vehicles directly at customer sites. You’ll work across a wide range of purpose‑built vehicles, from frontline first responder units to heavy transport and specialist fit‑outs.
No two days are the same. You’ll be part of a hands‑on, solutions‑focused team that takes pride in supporting some of New Zealand’s most critical service fleets.
Key Responsibilities
Carrying out servicing, repairs, and maintenance on specialist vehicles
Diagnosing and resolving electrical, mechanical, and systems‑related faults
Installing and commissioning new componentry and vehicle equipment
Supporting customers with aftersales queries and onsite service needs
Working closely with our production and auto electrical teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions
Ensuring all work is completed to compliance, safety, and quality standards
What We’re Looking For
Trade‑qualified technician (mechanical, auto electrical, or similar) OR proven industry experience
Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills across a range of vehicle systems
Experience installing new componentry and working with modern vehicle electronics
Knowledge of vehicle HVAC systems is an advantage
Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and technical documentation
Someone who takes pride in their workmanship and enjoys varied, hands on work‑on work
A team player who can adapt across different projects and vehicle types
