ABOUT THE ROLE 

We have an awesome opportunity for an integral role with our Sky finance team. We are looking for the best of the best.  

We have two vacancies to look after our Broadband and Business/Marketing portfolios. Within these positions, you will be responsible for driving wider commercial thinking across the organisation, helping to create a culture that considers different perspectives and the need to balance immediate pragmatism with longer term strategic goals.  

Key responsibilities: 

• Work collaboratively across the finance team and create strong connections and understanding of the wider SKY business. Analysis and identification of risks and opportunities 
• Financial Analysis: Proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and analysis is crucial. You should be able to interpret financial statements, analyse financial data, and identify key financial trends and insights 
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Strong skills in budget preparation, variance analysis, and financial forecasting are essential. You should be able to develop accurate budgets and forecasts to support strategic planning and decision-making. 
• Data Analysis: The ability to gather and analyse large sets of data is important for identifying patterns, trends, and opportunities. Skills in data manipulation, data visualization, and statistical analysis are beneficial. 
• Business Strategy: Have a solid understanding of business strategy and its impact on financial performance. You should be able to align financial goals with broader business objectives and provide insights to support strategic decision-making. 
• Financial Reporting: Proficiency in preparing and presenting financial reports and presentations is important. You should have strong communication skills to convey complex financial information in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders. 
• Cost Management: Expertise in cost analysis, cost control, and cost optimization is valuable. You should be able to identify areas for cost savings, analyse cost structures, and provide recommendations for cost-efficient operations. 
• Risk Assessment: The ability to identify and assess financial risks is crucial. You should be skilled in conducting risk assessments, developing risk mitigation strategies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. 

• Stakeholder Management: As a senior role, you will interact with various stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and cross-functional teams. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills are important for effective collaboration and communication. 
• Financial Systems and Tools: Proficiency in using financial software and tools such as Excel, ERP systems, and data visualization platforms is expected. Familiarity with financial modelling software and database querying is also beneficial.  
• Continuous Learning: The finance industry is constantly evolving, so a commitment to ongoing learning and staying updated with industry trends and best practices is important for a senior commercial finance analyst. 
• Key requirements:  
  Media sector or subscription business experience is a bonus, but not essential 
• University degree (Business, Finance, Accounting) 
• Experience of working within, or for, fast growing, high demand businesses 
• Experience of managing senior stakeholders/partnering with the business 
  Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills 
• It would be beneficial to have experience working on Anaplan  

The successful applicant will be expected to be able to work independently, show resilience and to have huge energy, ambition, and capacity to get things done, but to always work collaboratively and bring different perspectives together. An excellent communicator, strategic and inquisitive thinker. Highly analytical with attention to detail.
