About the Role:  

Summerset is seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join our Corporate Services team. 

In this role, you will be responsible for various financial accounting and reporting processes, providing knowledge and advice to the business, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and policies.  

You will also assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements, support the financial audit process, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Prepare and review statutory financial statements for the group and subsidiaries. 
• Assist in the financial audit process and prepare related documentation. 
• Preparation and processing of journals and accruals, as well as maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. 
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and other relevant legislation. 
• Responsibility for fixed asset register maintenance. 
• Support the annual budgeting process and other ad-hoc projects. 

What you will need: 

• Tertiary degree in accounting/CA qualified (or equivalent). 
• 3+ years of experience in an accounting role. 
• Strong knowledge of NZ IFRS. 
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). 
• Ability to work independently and with attention to detail.
